Description

This course examines the symbiotic roles of information technology & data analytics in business with an emphasis on the systems and frameworks that support the strategic, tactical and operational needs of organizations. The impact of technological infrastructure and analytic workflows on managerial decision-making and the various approaches to implementing technology solutions and organization-wide data strategy to effectively that aligns IT with the rest of the business goals are explored. As a part of this exploration, students employ a hands-on approach to business analytics via contemporary data visualization tools (like Power BI, Qlik or Tableau). In doing so, students develop the skills to ask the right questions and devise data-driven recommendations that are used to inform decisions that create value and enhance organizational effectiveness.
