What is your network username/password and why is it important?


Every student, staff, and faculty member must have a Domain/E-mail Account. If you have an "" e-mail address, you already have one. This account is very important as it allows you to log into several services, such as this portal (My.USF) your e-mail ( and into any public computer on campus.  If you do not have one, or have forgotton your password please e-mail with your full name and student ID number or stop by the IT area in the lower level of Jorden Hall.

Here are some Frequently asked questions & answers:

  • I accidentally deleted an assignment in the LMS, can I get it back?
    • Unfortunately not, no.
  • I moved a student from one section of my course to another- will their grades follow them?
    • No, if you 'move' a student you actually remove them from one section and add them to another, none of their information will follow.
  • I am not getting any of the announcements my professor is sending??!
    • Please complete the setup of my pages by clicking on "My Pages" tab and proceed through the setup wizard until you see your page, including your calendar and an announcements portlet.
  • How do I contact IT support?
  • My chat doesn't work- what do I do?
  • I can't post in the forums!
    • Ask you instructor if there are end/start times.
  • I can't log into the system
    • To log into My.USF you use the same username/password as you do for your e-mail or on campus computers.
    • If you do not have a USF account, you can use your Student ID number and the last four digits of your SSN
