Welcome to the America Reads Work Study Program! This is a very unique opportunity where you will get the opportunity to be placed for your work study position in a local elementary school to tutor elementary students. Ideally, you will be working with students to develop and improve their skills in literacy; however, tutoring could include additional subject areas. Training and direction will be taken from the hosting teacher. This will require at least 4-5 hours a week during school hours (8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) avoiding the lunch hour, when possible. This position is a great opportunity to explore a teaching career, and gain experiences in a classroom-setting working with elementary-aged children. USF Work study students will collaborate with their hosting teacher to find a consistent weekly work schedule that works for the USF student, as well as, meet the needs of the students in their assigned classroom and hosting teacher.
Please progress through the following steps in the next few sections.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
