Physical Wellness

You’ll find several opportunities to play hard and stay healthy at USF, including clubs and student organizations to get you moving like long boarding, hacky sack club, or our year round intramural program! Purple Plate is a healthy eating/cooking club and Cougar Cupboard has been created to address food insecurity in college students.

Workout facilities including weight room and fitness room are available at the Stewart Center for all students:

  • Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Sunday 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Hours may be adjusted during holidays and breaks.

Intramural Athletics and Fitness
There are team sports leagues happening year-round. These leagues include volleyball, kickball, flag football, basketball, indoor soccer, and softball. In addition to leagues, there are multiple tournaments that happen throughout the year, including Frisbee golf, doubles table tennis, dodge ball, spike ball, 3 v. 3 basketball, ultimate frisbee, and lawn games. The city of Sioux Falls also offers great opportunities for physical wellness through their Park and Rec Department.

Spiritual Wellness

Campus Ministries seeks to assist the University in its mission of forming the spiritual lives of students. Through spiritual life programming and pastoral care, Campus Ministries works with faculty and staff to create a redemptive community of grace. The University’s motto of “Culture for Service” epitomizes the distinctive, Christian mission of the University of Sioux Falls. 

USF offers numerous on-campus opportunities for students to grow in their faith and fellowship together:

  • Prayer and biblical discussions integrated into classrooms
  • Chapel-10 a.m. Tuesdays and student-led worship Thursdays at 9 p.m. All are welcome.
  • Residence Hall Bible Studies
  • Worship Team and Service Teams
  • Retreats
  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes
  • Intervarsity Christian Fellowship
  • Cougar Catholics meet regularly on campus and at nearby Christ the King Parish

If you ever need pastoral care of any kind please stop by the Campus Ministries Office to talk to our Campus Pastor. The Campus Ministries Office is located in the McDonald Center and Chapel is held in Z-Hall, located in the Salsbury Science Center.
