A message from the VPAA -

To our new full-time and adjunct faculty,

Welcome to the University of Sioux Falls! I am excited that you have decided to join our academic community. As a Christian Liberal Arts University, we are committed to developing each student as a “whole person” – preparing them to succeed in their chosen career while living out USF’s motto of Culture for Service by serving God and humankind.

As a teacher, you have chosen a very noble profession and one that can have tremendous impact! Prior to my recent transition to the role of Vice President of Academic Affairs, I served as a mathematics professor here at USF for nine years. During that time, I was blessed to get to teach and mentor many wonderful students. Now, one of my greatest pleasures is to receive email messages, phone calls, or office visits from former students; how fulfilling it is for me to hear about their successes and achievements! I encourage each of you to get to know your students; they will benefit so much from the time and attention you invest in them. And, trust me… the benefit will be mutual.

At USF, we really are a community… we look out for one another, and we help one another. As you begin your first year at USF, please know that your colleagues and Area Chair will be wonderful resources for you. Additionally, please view me as a resource; as your VPAA, I am here to support you! Never hesitate to reach out if I can be of any assistance.

I look forward with much excitement and enthusiasm to the start of the academic year, and I hope that you feel the same way! I pray that for each of you, the upcoming year holds much enjoyment and fulfillment.

Blessings to you,

Joy Lind
