Description
Machine learning utilizes interdisciplinary techniques in the fields
of statistics, mathematics, and computer science to create systems
that can go through large volumes of data at high speed to make
predictions or decisions without human intervention. Machine
learning as a field is incredibly pervasive, with applications
spanning from business, natural and social sciences, and the
humanities. This class will familiarize and prepare students to work
with a broad cross-section of models and algorithms for machine
learning. Prerequisites: COM205 and MAT205 or their equivalents, and
MAT302 recommended. (3 s.h.)
