Description
The teacher uses formal and informal assessment strategies to
evaluate students' intellectual, social, and physical development.
This class examines the difference between assessment and evaluation
and how to use data to drive curriculum planning, instruction,
evaluation, and decision-making. Teachers will learn about
assessment characteristics, uses, advantages, and limitations of
assessment; select and construct assessments related to objectives;
identify measurement theory elements; and evaluate assessments that
measure growth. The course is designed for elementary, secondary,
and K-12 teacher candidates. Prerequisite: Admission to teacher
education program. (3 s.h.)
