Description
Practicum in Teaching English Supervised practice in skills associated with the teaching of English. By observing and assisting university faculty in lower division English courses, the student has the opportunity to develop competencies in activities such as instructing in composition, grammar and literature; developing, presenting and grading exercises, tests and paragraph-to-paper-length writing assignments; and tutoring individual students to remediate deficiencies. Prerequisites: Junior or senior English Education major status and invitation to participate.
