Description

An examination of the value of mathematics, as it is used to model issues from areas such as operations research, social choice, the humanities, and the natural sciences. This course is available to transfer students who have completed 3 s.h. of their liberal arts math core requirement prior to enrolling at USF. Prerequisite: MAT111, or a math ACT sub-score of at least 19, or a score of at least 480 on the mathematics section of the SAT, or a passing grade on a screening exam designed by the USF mathematics department. The screening exam is available during a student's first year at USF and may be attempted at most twice during that year. (1 s.h.)
