Description
A general introduction to astronomy for science and non-science
majors. The necessary physics to understand astronomy will be
introduced such as gravitational motion, the electromagnetic
spectrum and atomic and nuclear physics. Major topics center on the
solar system, stars and stellar evolution, galaxies, cosmology and
extraterrestrial life in the universe. The students will be required
to perform several laboratory, celestial and computer planetarium
experiments. Satisfies core requirement for a laboratory science.
