Description
This course provides a basic introduction to working with
therapeutic groups including history and ethics of group
consultation. It examines two theory sets that guide generalist
practice in therapeutic groups - stages of group development and
psychodynamics. This course is built around theory learning, and
practice of that learning in experiential exercises. Outcomes focus
on becoming aware of self in a group setting, assessing group
dynamics, and using theory to guide group interventions.
Prerequisites: SWK130, SWK341, and SWK342. (3 s.h.)
