You’ll find several opportunities to play hard and stay healthy at USF, including clubs and student organizations to get you moving like long boarding, hacky sack club, or our year-round intramural program! Purple Plate is a healthy eating/cooking club and Cougar Cupboard has been created to address food insecurity in college students.

Workout facilities, including, a weight room and fitness room are available at the Stewart Center for all students:

  • Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Sunday 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Hours may be adjusted during holidays and breaks.

Intramural Athletics and Fitness
There are team sports leagues happening year-round. These leagues include volleyball, kickball, flag football, basketball, indoor soccer, and softball. In addition to leagues, there are multiple tournaments that happen throughout the year, including Frisbee golf, doubles table tennis, dodge ball, spike ball, 3 v. 3 basketball, ultimate frisbee, and lawn games. The city of Sioux Falls also offers great opportunities for physical wellness through their Park and Rec Department.

If you if you think you have a respiratory virus like COVID, influenza or RSV: 

Stay home and away from others (including people you live with who are not sick). These symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache, among others.

  • You can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
    • Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
    • You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication)

There is no longer a mandatory 5-day isolation period for COVID.
