Description
As an introduction to the structural and functional aspects of human
biology, this course emphasizes science as being a dynamic body of
knowledge, as well as processes for acquiring new knowledge.
Unifying themes of homeostasis, evolution, and societal issues are
used in the examination of biology as it pertains to human life.
Topics that traverse the content include molecular up through
biosphere levels of organization; genetics; reproduction,
differentiation and development; aging; disease; and biotechnology
and bioethics. This course satisfies the natural science requirement
for graduation unless otherwise specified by academic major
