Description

A comparative analysis of crime and criminal justice systems in select countries around the world. This course focuses on various legal traditions, issues of enforcement, prosecution, courts and prisons with emphasis on critical comparisons with similar institutions in the United States. Additional focus is placed on issues such as genocide, human trafficking and other crimes against humanity as defined by the United Nations and other international conventions. Prerequisite: CRJ203 or instructor approval. (3 s.h.) Fulfills the intercultural awareness core requirement.
