The first of a two-semester introduction to concepts of computer science, emphasizing computer programming. The programming language used provides an accessible introduction to structured and object-oriented programming. COM205 is a prerequisite to all higher courses in computer science and the techniques of information processing and mathematical modeling. No previous programming experience is expected. Satisfies the University's liberal arts core requirement in computer science. Prerequisites: MAT155 or its equivalent. (3 s.h.) Anticipated frequency of offering: fall.
