Description
An introduction to a literacy framework for emergent and early
reading instruction. Instruction will focus on the foundations of
literacy and the stages of readers. Students will learn the
components of effective individual, small-group and large-group
instruction. Field-based practicum experience in a primary classroom
is included. Prerequisite: Admission into the teacher education
