An introduction to a balanced literacy framework for writing instruction. Instruction will focus on the stages of spelling development and large group, small group, and individual instruction to meet the needs of K-8 writers. Field-based practicum experience will be integrated with residency teaching. Prerequisite: Admission into the SFoE teacher residency program.
