Description
This course is required for all special education teacher candidates
seeking a license in K-12 special education. The course is designed
as an introductory study of the history, philosophy and legal
implications of educating students with exceptional needs including
mild to severe categories. This course provides special education
teacher candidates' basic knowledge concerning the learning
characteristics of exceptional student populations, assessment
strategies, curriculum and program design, evidence-based
instructional strategies and partnering with community transition
