Description
The first semester of the liberal arts core sequence on ideas and
writing. The course is designed to provide students with instruction
and practice in writing. Additionally the course seeks to cultivate
student understanding of the meaning and value of a liberal arts
education in the Christian tradition through the critical
examination of ideas, themes, and texts that have influenced Western
culture. An important component of the learning experience is the
learning community established among students and instructors. (3
