Description
		
			This is an anti-racism course focusing on understanding historical 
and current relations between White Americans and Native Americans, 
with an emphasis on Lakota/White relations as this course is taught 
in South Dakota. The course will trace treaty history, political 
history and cultural impact of white domination and colonization. 
Inter-group theory will be a primary lens through which cross 
cultural contact will be examined. An emphasis of the course will be 
to assist students to understand systemic racism, and begin a 
journey of anti-racism. The course will include exposure to Lakota 
culture. This course fulfills the intercultural awareness core 
course requirement. Prerequisite: sophomore standing. Cross-listed
