Description

This course begins with an introduction to foundational structures of mathematics including formal logic, axiomatic rigor and proof. With this framework in place, the course proceeds with a study of Euclidean geometry, hyperbolic geometry and transformational geometry. Additional topics may include compass and straightedge constructions and projective geometry. Prerequisite: MAT112 or equivalent. (3 s.h.) Anticipated frequency of offering: fall (odd years).
