This course builds knowledge for nusring practice by focusing on the complex mechanisms of human disease processes and their application to nursing care of individuals and populations. The content builds upon previous understanding of anatomy, physiology, microbiology and basic chemistry. Disease etiologies; pathophysiologic changes in cells, tissues and organs; and clinical manifestations are discussed to provide background for preventative and restorative healthcare. (4 s.h.)
