This course builds knowledge for nursing practice by introducint pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenomics. The content builds upon previous learning in the areas of math, anatomy, physiology and chemistry. Classifications of medications, their mechanisms of action, drug effects, indications, adverse reactions and nursing implications are discussed regarding safe medication administration. (4 s.h.)
