Description
The focus of this course is on family nursing care with a specific
emphasis on the experiences of pregnancy and childbirth. Specific
content includes reproductive and sexual health, psychological and
physiological changes of pregnancy, prenatal care, labor and
delivery, postpartum care and care of the newborn. This course
incorporates holistic, person- and family-centered care for all
stages of women's health. Clinical application includes the
prenatal, birthing and initial post-partum recovery time periods and
occurs in a range of practice environments. Prerequisite: See School
