This adult-focused course expands on previous nursing knowledge and skills, applying these to complex medical-surgical health problems with unpredictable outcomes. The focus of the course is providing comprehensive nursing care to adults with critical body system alterations. The course examines the interrelationship of epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical data, technologically advanced interventions and person-centered nursing care. Clinical application focuses on recognizing cues, analyzing cues, and prioritizing actions and evaluating outcomes. (5 s.h.)
