Description

This course introduces students to the fundamental interviewing and documentation skills required for effective social work practice. Students gain hands-on experience through structured practice in learning triads, recorded interviews and professional writing exercises. Emphasis is placed on motivational interviewing techniques, ethical documentation and culturally responsive assessment. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate the ability to conduct social work interviews, produce professional documentation and integrate cultural awareness into the helping process. Prerequisite: SWK130 (3 s.h.)
