Description
This course is required for all special education teacher
candidates seeking an endorsement or license in K-12 special
education teaching students with mild disabilities. The course is
designed to provide the prospective teacher of students with mild
disabilities with the knowledge of the characteristics of learning
disabilities and the consequent academic challenges students may
experience. Coursework emphasizes math, reading, writing, and
language processing deficits and how they interfere with academic
achievement and social relationships, use of assessment
accommodations, and intervention approaches for students with
learning disabilities. Prerequisite: SED220. (3 s.h.)
