Description
This course introduces students to major psychological, sociological and anti-oppressive theories about human behavior in the social environment and teaches students how to apply these theories to a variety of cases and contexts. It also covers life span psychology and life course sociology knowledge relevant to assessment and anti-oppressive practice in social work. This course also introduces students to important developmental, social and cultural issues related to specific phases of life that are often relevant to practice. HBSE I addresses pre-pregnancy through adolescence. Prerequisites: SWK130 and PSY201 (3 s.h.)
