Description

This course provides a basic introduction to working with groups including history, ethics, group consultation and working in therapeutic groups. It examines theory that guides generalist practice in therapeutic groups- stages of group development and psychodynamics. Students will learn and practice self-awareness in a group setting, assessing group dynamics and using theory to guide group interventions through discussion and in-class exercises. Prerequisites: SWK341 and SWK342 (3 s.h.)
