Description
This course is designed to provide basic social work knowledge and skills needed for macro practice- working with organizations and communities. Coursework will examine the relationships between policy, community needs and organizational programs. Students will learn skills to engage, assess, intervene and evaluate practice with organizations and communities. Students will learn foundational skills such as needs assessment, strategic planning, grant writing/budgeting, program design and evaluation and change management. This course will incorporate social work ethics and the values of social justice and client self-determination by teaching students how to empower people through community organizing and responsive program design. Prerequisites: SWK341 and SWK342 (3 s.h.)
