Emergency Student Housing

Emergency Student Housing

The Emergency Student Housing Program is available for off-campus students who need somewhere to stay if they are in-between living situations, facing an emergency or difficult circumstances, or need a safe place to reside for a few days. This transitional housing program helps guide USF students to find a more stable living situation. This program provides students in need with resources, an unmarked and private place to stay, a safe place to stay stocked with toiletries, bedding, and essentials, and meal swipes to eat in the USF cafeteria.

Some examples of reasons someone may live in Emergency Student Housing include:

  • Domestic violence/assault

  • Evacuation

  • Fear for safety or wellbeing

  • Fire

  • Flooding

  • Infectious disease outbreak or quarantine

  • Police investigation

  • Power outage

  • Threats

If you are in need of safe housing or would like to know more information, please contact any of the Student Life staff below:

Andrew Porteous, Director of Housing & Student Life
